Quick setup
- 1Open Profile → Proxy Servers → Add.
- 2Enter the address and port, choose HTTPS or SOCKS Version 5, and enable authentication.
- 3Create a rule for the apps to route.
- 4Check the connection log.
Your proxy details
After you buy a plan, open My proxies. Choose the Proxy Type (Rotating or Sticky), the Protocol (HTTP or SOCKS5) and a Format, then copy a line. The generator offers three formats:
HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD Paste into apps and anti-detect browsers that split the fields or auto-fill them.
USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT Tools that want credentials before the address.
http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT Code and command-line tools. This is the proxy URL used in the examples below.
In the examples on this page, replace USERNAME, PASSWORD, HOST and PORT with the values from your line. SOCKS5_PORT is the port the generator shows when you pick SOCKS5.
Residential lines are either rotating (a new IP on new connections) or sticky (one IP for the time you choose). Datacenter and ISP plans give you a list of dedicated IPs, one per line as IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD, and each line is one fixed IP.
To test a line, open https://ipinfo.io/json through it: it shows the exit IP and country. For HTTP lines you can also use the free proxy checker.
Add the proxy server
- 1Open Profile → Proxy Servers… and click Add….
- 2Enter Address HOST and Port PORT from the generator.
- 3Set Protocol to HTTPS for an HTTP line, or SOCKS Version 5 if you copied the SOCKS5 port.
- 4Under Authentication, tick Enable and enter USERNAME and PASSWORD.
- 5Click Check to test the server, then OK. If Proxifier offers to make it the default proxy, say yes only if you want all traffic routed.
Note: In Proxifier, “HTTPS” means an HTTP proxy that can tunnel connections. That is what ZenProxy HTTP lines are, so choose HTTPS, not plain HTTP, for apps that use HTTPS.
Route only the apps you choose
- 1Open Profile → Proxification Rules… and click Add….
- 2Give the rule a Name and list the app in Applications (for example
app.exe). Leave Target hosts and Target ports set to Any to match everything that app does. - 3Set Action to the ZenProxy server you added.
- 4Leave the Default rule on Direct so other apps keep your normal connection.
- 5Rules run from top to bottom, so move your rule above broader ones.
Resolve DNS through the proxy
Open Profile → Name Resolution and turn on Resolve hostnames through proxy (or leave Detect DNS settings automatically on). Lookups then happen at the exit, so sites see a lookup from the proxy’s country instead of yours.
Different IPs for different apps
Add one proxy server per sticky line (same address and port, different usernames) and one rule per app. To make sticky lines, open the generator, set Proxy Type to Sticky, choose a Sticky Duration if your plan offers one, set how many lines you want in Sticky Amount, then copy or download them. Each line keeps its IP for the chosen time. The session part of a sticky username differs by plan, so always generate sticky lines instead of editing usernames by hand. For apps that stay signed in for days, use static ISP IPs instead.
Tips
- Open Proxifier’s connection log while you test; it shows which rule and proxy each connection used.
- Proxifier works on Windows and macOS; the menus are almost the same.
Troubleshooting
-
Check fails with an authentication error
Tick Enable under Authentication and re-enter the username and password from the generator.More on this error →
-
The app still shows your own IP
The rule doesn’t match. Check the executable name and rule order in the log.
-
Check fails to connect
Make sure the protocol matches the port: HTTPS with the HTTP port, SOCKS Version 5 with the SOCKS5 port.More on this error →
-
Wrong country
Set the country in the generator or add
-country-xxto the username on residential plans, then check https://ipinfo.io/json.More on this error →

Questions
Should I choose HTTP or HTTPS in Proxifier?
Choose HTTPS for ZenProxy HTTP lines. In Proxifier, HTTPS means an HTTP proxy that tunnels connections, which works for any app, including ones that use HTTPS.
Does Proxifier support SOCKS5 with a password?
Yes. Choose SOCKS Version 5, tick Enable under Authentication and enter your username and password.
Can different apps use different IPs?
Yes. Add a proxy server per sticky line and a rule per app.
How do I keep my other apps off the proxy?
Leave the Default rule set to Direct and add rules only for the apps you want routed.
