Quick setup
- 1Open the profile’s Proxy section and select Custom.
- 2Choose HTTP, or SOCKS5 with the SOCKS5 port.
- 3Paste a HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD line into the IP or host field.
- 4Click Check proxy, then save and launch the profile.
Your proxy details
After you buy a plan, open My proxies. Choose the Proxy Type (Rotating or Sticky), the Protocol (HTTP or SOCKS5) and a Format, then copy a line. The generator offers three formats:
HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD Paste into apps and anti-detect browsers that split the fields or auto-fill them.
USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT Tools that want credentials before the address.
http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT Code and command-line tools. This is the proxy URL used in the examples below.
In the examples on this page, replace USERNAME, PASSWORD, HOST and PORT with the values from your line. SOCKS5_PORT is the port the generator shows when you pick SOCKS5.
Residential lines are either rotating (a new IP on new connections) or sticky (one IP for the time you choose). Datacenter and ISP plans give you a list of dedicated IPs, one per line as IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD, and each line is one fixed IP.
To test a line, open https://ipinfo.io/json through it: it shows the exit IP and country. For HTTP lines you can also use the free proxy checker.
Add the proxy to a profile
- 1Create a profile or open an existing profile’s settings, and go to the Proxy section.
- 2Select Custom.
- 3Choose the protocol: HTTP for an HTTP line, or SOCKS5 with the SOCKS5 port.
- 4Paste the line into the IP or host field in
HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORDformat. Multilogin fills in the port, Login and Password fields for you. This is the generator’s default format. - 5Click Check proxy. “Proxy check passed” means it works.
- 6Create or update the profile and launch it.
Note: If your IP is on the allow-list on the Access & API page and your plan supports login by IP, leave Login and Password empty.
One sticky IP per profile
To make sticky lines, open the generator, set Proxy Type to Sticky, choose a Sticky Duration if your plan offers one, set how many lines you want in Sticky Amount, then copy or download them. Each line keeps its IP for the chosen time. The session part of a sticky username differs by plan, so always generate sticky lines instead of editing usernames by hand.
Choose the country
On residential plans, add -country- and a two-letter country code to the end of the username, for example USERNAME-country-us or USERNAME-country-gb. To combine a country with a state, a city or a sticky session, build the line in the generator, which shows only the options your plan supports. Datacenter and ISP IPs have a fixed location that you choose when you buy them.
Tips
- Give every profile its own sticky line, and never share one IP between profiles. Set Sticky Amount in the generator to the number of profiles.
- Let the profile take its timezone, language and geolocation from the proxy IP, or set them by hand to match the proxy country. A US IP with a European timezone is an easy giveaway.
- Residential sticky lines hold their IP for the duration you pick in the generator. For accounts you open again over days or weeks, use static ISP IPs, which keep the same address for the whole plan.
- Check the IP after you save: open https://ipinfo.io/json in the profile and compare the country with the profile’s settings.
Troubleshooting
-
“Proxy check failed”
Multilogin couldn’t connect. Check the protocol matches the port and that the line pasted completely.More on this error →
-
Login or 407 errors
The username or password is wrong. Copy a fresh line from the generator; don’t edit sticky usernames by hand.More on this error →
-
The IP changed between sessions
The sticky duration ended. Generate a new line for the profile, or move long-lived accounts to ISP IPs.More on this error →
-
Wrong country
Set the country in the generator or add
-country-xxto the username on residential plans, then check https://ipinfo.io/json.More on this error →

Questions
What proxy format does Multilogin accept?
You can paste HOST:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD into the IP or host field, which matches the generator’s default format, or fill in the fields one by one.
Does Multilogin support SOCKS5 proxies with a password?
Yes. Choose SOCKS5 and use the SOCKS5 port from the generator with your username and password.
How many profiles can share one proxy?
For separate accounts, none should. Give each profile its own sticky line or ISP IP.
Which proxy type is best for multi-accounting?
Static ISP IPs for long-lived accounts, because the address never changes. Residential sticky lines for short sessions and account creation. Avoid rotating lines in browser profiles, because the IP can change mid-session.
